I was walking my dogs last night and while going by a large water area I heard for the first time this year the sound of many male frogs croaking their love song. I know its early hearing quacking ducks flying north the night before and my wife has seen butterflies flying around the flowers must mean its spring. At least here in southern Portugal.
The weather here has turned for the better, its hot enough during the day to wear shorts and short-sleeved shirts. It is so beautiful walking on the beaches and through the wild growth in the area now. We hope that it lasts a long time.
All of southern Portugal has watched the television the last few months and seeing the bad weather you in the north have been having. We have been so glad that the only bad weather was rain. It was a lot of rain, but it did not flood any of our area, so we were pretty lucky, I think.
Let me know when you expect to see the first signs of spring. Maybe we could keep track of how long it gets to the far north.
