I have just received my newest issue of the VFW Magazine and what really caught my eye was an article of why and how a memorial to all the women from Oklahoma who had been killed while in the service of their country since the state was born. There is a list of 103 names engraved on 11 black granite panels.
The center tablet has these words:
To the women warriors of the United States of America, those who have served and those now serving, with pride and honor in the military of the USA and those courageous women at home who supported the war effort by taking care of family and filling the jobs left vacant by the demands of war. Women became factory workers, farmers, builders, mechanics and did whatever was necessary in the quest for peace. Little did they know their efforts would leave an everlasting mark on American society and the world. Thank you and God bless you all.
I believe that this shows the love and sacrifice the women have also gone through for our nation to become one of the greatest on earth. From me to all the women who were behind, beside, and in front of us, All my love and God bless you all.
